Saffron clad benevolent monk,

On the wisdom path,

Once met a man so full of self worth.

In silence,

Ordinary asked the half-wit,

To look down into a nearby well,

And then to call out his name into it.

Man confused,

Pleaded monk to reveal the lesson.

Wisdom smiled and said,

“The well is a resource,

Only if it is giving,

Or else, it is just a hollow,

Reverberating and reflecting,

The mundane madness.”

The Man stood staring into the well,

For a very long time,

Calling out his name,

While the monk walked away.
